Diversity Statement.
Our Power Lies in Our differences.
Together. We can engineer a sustainable Future.
We have a strong conviction that early-career engineers are the catalyst for social change. Our mission is to champion early-career engineers from diverse backgrounds to become leaders in sustainability. Achieving sustainable development is a global issue, requiring global participation. Currently, there is a lack of diversity in finding innovative solutions to the world’s problems. Many early-career engineers often feel overlooked or do not have access to opportunities to create real change. This results in engineering organisations not involving the whole talent pool, contributing to the slow progress of sustainable development worldwide.
By creating an inclusive culture, we will inspire early-career engineers to be confident in the impact they can have no matter their background. We will strive towards equal representation while preventing existing social biases. Diversity and inclusion within engineering is not only an inherent requirement for sustainable development, but it is a fundamental right that all have equal opportunity. That is why we proactively champion diversity and inclusion and it is physically manifested within our organisation via a Diversity Department. Our organisation will provide a platform for early-career engineers to showcase their innovation. To set off this positive chain reaction, our team is uniquely made up of multifaceted early-career individuals.
“We believe that diversity and inclusion in engineering is embracing all cultures, experiences and capabilities to generate solutions to the world’s problems.”
Our initiatives, including the Global Engineering Network, will create collaboration between early-career engineers, irrespective of their background. The network will offer insight on representation globally, providing an understanding of opportunities for current and aspiring engineers. Initiatives that we’ve run have already reached 73 countries globally, but our commitment does not end here. Our Global Engineering Network will provide us with first-hand knowledge to maximise the inclusivity of our decision making. Ultimately, our flagship summit will promote diversity and inclusion across engineering by uniting different voices, ages and perspectives to address the sustainability challenges that we face.
We will make the greatest impact when we champion all, without prejudice, to reach their potential despite societal limitations. This is what we stand and strive for.
Though our regional challenges may differ, we are working towards a unified goal of championing engineers towards a sustainable future globally.
